The luxury consignment retailer The RealReal has released a new report on its sales this year. The report was published on December 6th with the intention of giving customers assistance with their holiday shopping. The report gives information on how each brand sold over the year, and the percentage sales rose or fell.
Thanks to the report, shoppers at The RealReal are able to make educated decisions when purchasing investment pieces for the holidays. Rati Levesque, chief merchant, explained that “gifting an item or brand that is on the rise in resale is the gift that keeps on giving for the recipient”.
The RealReal is an online consignment store that deals in designer and luxury products, including clothing, bags, shoes, jewelry, decor and more.
Classic designers topped the list. Hermès was on the rise. It was perhaps no surprise that sales increased for the designer’s iconic Birkin bag. Sales of the Kelly and Constance bags have also reported significant growth.
The report also provided information on brands showing a decline in sales. Tory Burch, Miu Miu, and Tom Ford have all decreased in value.
Gucci has always been a strong seller at The RealReal. Gucci showed notable growth in the men’s department, owing to the popularity of the Ace sneaker. The Ace sneaker was described in the report as “the most giftable Gucci style.” Gucci sold well among women as well; its GG Marmont collection was particuarly popular.
Canada Goose and Off-White were also top sellers in menswear. The Off-White x Nike collaborative collection continued to climb in sales. Falling sales were reported in menswear for Dior Homme, Kenzo, and Chrome Hearts.
Jewelry consistently sells well during the holidays at The RealReal. Van Kleef & Arpels has been the top seller for two years in a row in this category.
